About Us

Here at Fender’s Garage we have a passion for older vehicles and teaching others about car care and repair. That said, we welcome all years/makes/models of vehicle in need of repair and will tell you if a needed repair is outside of our skillset. Our goal is to be more than a repair shopโ€”we want to be a resource to our community and its vehicle needs.

The Dog Behind the Name

Every good name has a story, and ours starts with a chocolate lab named Fender. Now, when we tell you Fender was the perfect dog, you might think, “Yeah, okay. That’s what everyone says.”

But he truly was the perfect dog.

Fender was the dog that even people who didn’t like dogs liked, the dog that always had to be near his people even if it meant crawling under the car with them. It’s hard to describe him; he was 100 pounds of pure heart, and he really was just that great of a dog.

Sadly, we lost him back in 2020.

Shortly after he was gone, we decided to open a shop, and we knew that the only name we could possibly use, was Fender’sโ€”both to honor the sweetest good boy he was, and because this is one of the ways we can keep him with us. We only hope we can live up to his character with how we run our business.

Nathan and Fender in 2013

The People Behind Fender’s Garage, LLC

Fender’s Garage is the result of the long-time dream of owner Nathan and his wife Amelie. The two met and bonded over their VW beetles, and throughout their relationship cars have been involved in some capacity or another. But what started out as just a dream and passion project, has become a business.

Nathan left engineering after ten years with the automotive OEMs to pursue his passion. Not only to work on cars from the service end, but also to share his love of them with the community he now calls home in Greeneville, TN.

The decision to move to Greeneville (or move back, in Amelie’s case), was a simple one that involved us answering one question:

Where was home?

Each time we thought of where we should “set up shop,” East Tennessee was the only place that made sense, and that’s where we went.

With experience and a desire to spread awareness about the trades and automotive maintenance, restoration, and repair, we hope to build a connection with the community we serve.
